Taipei Zoo Newborn- Great Argus
There are two Great Argus chicks hatched on February 7 at the Taipei Zoo. The keeper named the chicks as "Lichun" and "Liqing". Great Argus is listed in CITES Appendix II. Suffering from the pressure of hunting and habitat loss, the amount of Great Argus keeps decreasing gradually and is estimated about 100,000 mature indiviaduals in the wild, said the zoo director Jason Yeh in a statement.
